Worm gear set are usually used when large speed reductions are needed. Worm gear set include worm and worm wheel, the worm gear set is used to transmit motion between two shafts which are at 90° to each other and lie on plane.
Double enveloping worm gear sets are available.

Worm: 45#, 40Cr or 42CrMo
Worm wheel: Bronze alloy, ZCuSn10Pb1
Heat Treatment:
Normalize, Quench &Temper, Nitriding, Carburizing, Induction Hardening
Process: Teeth Milling, Teeth hobbing, Teeth Grinding
